When Memories and Dreams Collide
A faint glint of light struggles through the ventilation. You are wide awake. The entire city isn't yet done celebrating and you can only wish the noise died down as quickly and the morning sun showed up. But wishes don't come true in the real world.
In the real world, the forgotten lanes of the past are all that you find yourself in when you are done running in the maze of doubt. In the real world, the universe never conspires against you. You have nothing to gain expect those memories and a trifle amount of wisdom. But wisdom only works where there are no relationships involved.
Often many of us seek refuge in boozing to get away from the reality. At the end of the day, it is just another way of poking fun at your morbid self. You feel you can work like a dog during a day and tire yourself out. You feel you can get a grip on those memories from clogging every neuron. You feel that there is a safe refuge in your slumber.
But you are wrong. You are so very wrong.
Most of the times, you trust those who take your life down. Most of the times, you smile when you mean otherwise. Most of the times, you feel relationships around you will make you stand. And as with the reality, most of the times, you are proved wrong.
"Sleep is like a lie that you have to say. And you don't know how to lie. But..."
|Do you fear choices?|
Dreams are often meaningless. Just like our lives. But we somehow have a control over our lives, not the dreams. You can run away from a relationship, pretend that you don't care, pretend that you hate someone. But dreams will tell you otherwise. Dreams will bring back those times, when you laughed joyously in her arms, when you found solace in his words.
Dreams are definitely not an option for the fighter in all of us. Memories make us do all those crazy things.
Where would you like to be?
Would you find a safe refuge in those memories or would you rather find the nearest exit to those dreams?
Tough choice. Just like life.
Tough luck. Just like the relationships around us.
The choice still remains for me. I don't know what to do. For the one I choose and the one I let go, I am the only one who stands to lose.
